SPANISH GRAMMAR FOR LEAVING CERT 2019 (CTA Lingua Revise Boosters®)

There are 2 courses: one for 5th years and one for 6th years
(REGISTRATION CLOSING DATE: 7TH JANUARY 2019)

SUPER INTENSIVE PRE-LC COURSE (8 Weeks duration, every Monday: Class Duration 1hr:20mins)

(Emphasis is on complex grammatical structures REQUIRED for LEAVING CERT. Higher Level SPANISH!!)

We are offering a specialist exam preparation course for Spanish Leaving Cert Higher Level. Our exam preparation course focuses on areas of the language that you may not be so confident with, and common exam subjects and topics.

Our exam preparation courses have been designed to maximise your potential when sitting such examinations.

Objectives of general communication in Spanish and work on general language skills (vocabulary, written production, grammar, comprehensions) related to the syllabus content at this level.

This course is dedicated to a specific objective and/or competence: written/grammar. All students of LC Spanish can benefit from this intensive course. We use extensive notes, cover exam techniques, do practice exams and guide students through the grammar of the whole course. The fee for this course is €250 for the ‘8 week’ intensive programme. Our Tutors are of the highest standard of teaching and professionalism to deliver this course.


PROGRAMME OUTLINE:

WEEK 1: English Grammar for Students of Spanish /Present Tense /Imperative /Future & Logical Future /The Spanish Infinitive /The Spanish Present Participle

WEEK 2: Preterite/Verbs & Prepositions/Imperfect Tense / When to use Ser & Estar/ Interrogatives

WEEK 3: Present Conditional/Past Conditional/Pluperfect/Negatives/ A & De/ Definite & indefinite article

WEEK 4: Pronouns

WEEK 5: Pronouns

WEEK 6: Reflexive verbs / Note on Querer, Deber & Poder/ The passive Voice and the use of ‘One/Se + verb’ in Spanish

WEEK 7: Direct & Indirect Speech/Nouns & Articles/Adjectives/Adverbs

WEEK 8: The Subjunctive


Exam:

(Higher Level)

  1. A) Spanish Oral

(The oral accounts for 25% of the final examination result)

  1. B) Spanish Aural (Listening Comprehension)

(The aural accounts for 20% of the final examination result)

  1. c) Spanish Written Expression

(The written expression accounts for 55% of the final examination result)

To secure your place on this course a non-refundable deposit of €100 is required upon registration. Closing date for registration is 7th JANUARY 2019!

* These courses are subject to demand. Places are limited therefore early booking is advisable. We require a minimum of 10 registrants in order for the course to take place. Whilst we expect to reach this minimum in all courses, in the event that there are not enough participants registered by the Sunday evening before the first day of the course, we reserve the right to cancel the course and process a full refund of ‘fees paid’  to the student/parent.
