Foreign Language Classes

Whatever doubts you have, no matter your age or circumstances, you really can learn another language. Every excuse that people give for failing to learn a second language, be it too old, not enough time, wrong genes, none of them stand up!

Studies have shown that, no matter how old you are, speaking a second language daily really can boost cognitive development and improve your memory! It also aids longer attention spans and reduces the risk of age-related cognitive decline.

At Clonmel Tuition Academy we are currently offering language classes for Adults  and Children. There are four class levels at Beginners level (Beginners 1/Beginners 2/Beginners 3/Beginners 4).  There is no official exam to be taken at these levels, however, the tutor may elect to give an end of course exam and all language students will receive a Certificate of Attendance, click here to view a copy!. Please note: CTA are currently only offering Beginners levels 1-4 in the following language categories:

Adult Beginners Classes (Levels 1,2,3 & 4):

  • French
  • Spanish
  • German
  • Polish

Kids Classes (Levels 1,2,3 & 4):

  • French
  • Spanish
  • German
  • Polish

Lots of students feel they are a complete beginner even though they may have studied the language previously, either at school or on another course. It’s important to understand that our course levels are divided into Beginner 1, Beginner 2, Beginner 3 and Beginner 4. If you have studied the language before, even just a little, it may be more appropriate for you to join the beginner 2, 3 or 4 programme (depending on your existing level) rather than the beginner 1 programme. All of our Adult beginners language courses are designed for people with zero language knowledge (Beginner 1) through to the basics (Beginner 4). If you take all 4 beginners courses (1 through to 4) this prepares you in part to sit the equivalent of the Common European Framework (CEFR) level A1. You would at this stage still need to attend an A1 level course.  To learn more about the Common European Framework levels and how they are mapped to our levels please check our CEFR Levels page.

You can find out which beginners courses you should join by checking your level with a free online level test and by speaking to one of our course advisors. Our Beginner 1 programmes are for people who have zero experience of the language – so make sure you start in the right level.
