OVERVIEW:
Take your Leaving Cert. writing to the next level by developing your creative writing skills with confidence and learn how to not only write more deeply and more skilfully but also to skilfully interpret written pieces to achieve real results in your LC Higher Level English essays and compositions.
This course has been specially developed to awaken the imaginative powers of Leaving Cert. Students. This is a must course for anyone wishing to enhance their writing skills and develop their creative processes in advance of sitting the Leaving Cert Higher Level English Papers, and is ideal for both 5th& 6th year students. It improves the writing skills required of students at that level and helps raise the standards of the students composition.
This course exposes students to a variety of types, styles and forms of writing and provides them with opportunities to explore fiction, drama, poetry, playwriting, nonfiction, articles, essays, stories and blogging used at Leaving Cert level. Students also experiment with writing genres, literary theory, cultural contexts,
Students will learn comparative study techniques and practice the techniques of writing such as dialogue, description, narration, character development, plotting, setting, metaphor and suggestion. The techniques under discussion will be practised using some of the prescribed LC HL texts. This is an 8 week course and the course fee is outlined in the Fee Schedule (up to 12 students max per class)

***All of our LC Booster Courses require a minimum of 10 registrants in order to take place. Whilst we expect to reach this minimum in all courses, in the event that there are not enough participants registered by the Sunday evening before the first day of the course, we reserve the right to cancel the course and process a full refund of fees paid to the student/parent.

In order to gain admission to any of our courses, fees need to be paid in full prior to the course start date.
