Ms. Lisa Rice Laaksonen – Guest Tutor (French)
Lisa has almost 30 years teaching experience at second level in Ireland and teaching French at all levels. She is a B-Post holder and exam secretary. She has extensive experience correcting State exams spanning 15 years. With an outstanding academic portfolio, (a MA in French [2.1] from the University of Limerick and a BA [2.1] in Spanish) with a Bachelor of ARTS (Honours) degree in French & Irish from University College Cork), her past teaching experiences have helped her to develop a very structured/objective based, yet highly adaptable approach to teaching which has been extremely effective.
She has a proven track record in coaching students to a higher French proficiency and has taught a myriad of students at secondary level. Lisa is very familiar with the current Junior & Leaving Certificate syllabus and as such, in addition to helping students to expand their repertoire of language skills, (including vocabulary, grammar and creative writing), she also focuses on examination skills. Lisa has over 15 years experience as a state examiner including Oral Examinations and has spent time teaching in the Lycée professionnel Pierre Mendès, France. She has also been involved with several foreign exchange programmes down through the years with schools in France, most notably with the Collège Léonard de Vinci in Toulouse, France.
